Leslie Keegal was born to Christian parents and came to know Jesus at age 12. On two successive nights Leslie saw the crucified Jesus who spoke to him. Jesus told him that He died to save and heal him and that if he dedicated his life, Jesus would use Leslie to bring many to Christ, at home and abroad. Leslie began to minister at once in the church any way he could. Paul Risser remembers being the the first American from the Foursquare movement to preach for Leslie back in 1982. The story is humorous; Leslie had assumed leadership over our two churches a short time earlier. Both churches soon collapsed and were closed under his leadership. The dismal performance brought him to his knees where God soon motivated Leslie to intentionally start a church multiplication movement. Multiplying churhces is always difficult, but even more so in a place like Sri Lanka where the people routinely invite demon spirits into their bodies, their children and their homes. Leslie began by fasting for a week before casting a demon out of a man. It worked! But at one convert per week, the movement wasn't going to grow very fast. Leslie went back to prayer until he found the power to move against the demonic in large groups. He says that 85-90 percent of their converts need deliverance from demon oppression in some form or another. The miracles have been spectacular. One mature man grew from the size of a three-year-old to taller than Leslie after prayer. Today, he is a pastor. The list of miracles is endless. Leslie and company passed the thousand congregation mark several years ago. Leslie was appointed the national leader of Foursquare Sri Lanka in 1983.
